Internet Based Parcel Tracking System

This system has been developed to a working prototype level. It features a man-in-the field job-list system expanded into a full GPS parcel despatch and tracking and proof-of-delivery system.

System Features

The basic features of this system are as follows:

• A parcel can be assigned to a driver by the Despatcher 
• The job appears on the Driver’s PDA job-list 
• The parcel can be scanned into the van using the barcode reader 
• The parcel can be tracked via GPS in the van 
• The despatcher can see the location of all vans at all times
• The customer is able to view the current location and status of the parcel via the web
• Barcode scanning upon delivery enables correct parcel ientification
• Customer signs on PDA touch screen as proof of delivery
• Customer's signature uploaded to despatcher console for record of P.O.D.
